"Voodoo!® has filled the vacuum that was there for an orange rose, it is new and amusing, you feel better when you have the flower in your hands." Why is orange such an important colour? "Orange in Russia is not as popular colour as red, white or bicolour, but despite that, orange is part of the vital group of colours you need to have to ensure the best showroom presentation for your final clients. The most important quality in Voodoo!® is the intensity and definition of the colour." Can you compare it to other bright orange varieties in the market? "Movie Star was the `queen' for a long time in the Russian market in `oranges'. A lot of new varieties for the last 3 years tried to reach the level of sales of Movie Star, but until now it has not been possible to reach that level. We really think that Voodoo!® could be the one." To whom do you sell to, is there a specific segment where you sell Voodoo!®? "Fressko sells 100% of the flowers from Amsterdam to the biggest wholesalers in Russia. Voodoo!® has it specific target in exclusive florist shops and with the most established designers." From your experience as a buyer, how is the vase life and transportability of Voodoo!®, does she recover quickly after transportation? "Voodoo!® recovers very quickly after transportation and most of our clients are very happy about the vase life." What is the minimum head size in cm your clients expect from a bright orange rose, does Voodoo!® meet the expectations? "The minimum size is 6 cm, Voodoo!® from Agrocoex perfectly attains that size." What is the stem size you require for bright orange roses? "Russian market is a long stems market, for that reason you can sell better 80 cm and 90 cm, but Voodoo!® is one of the few varieties at 60 cm, you can sell without problem." What is the best time of the year for this variety? "Orange roses sell throughout the year and at a constant rate." Are there special occasions/events for this variety? "As you know for Women's day, the Russian market `explodes' and is the best event of the year. There are also the orders for St. Valentine's Day which are growing steadily. On both occasions, Voodoo!® is one of the most highly demanded varieties. I do not have any information about special presentation for this variety in Russia, but we are ready to do something in cooperation with such a prestigious breeder like Schreurs!" Do you sell all your rose varieties for the same price (depending on length) or do you sell hot varieties at a premium, if so, would you sell Voodoo!® at a premium rate? "Our price policy is to sell the flowers to our clients at the same farm's price with a commission for our service. Usually clients expect same price for all varieties by length, but there are some varieties we can consider as premium in the Russian market and I think Voodoo!® is becoming a premium variety." Which other Schreurs' varieties do you order (or know). Which one is your favourite and why? "We have a good market for the Ecuadorian Aqua!®. The best is from Agrocoex, our clients love that rose, also our clients are beginning to order Tibet!® in good quantities. Opium!®, we order but not in large quantities. We have great expectations with Cherry-O!®." Do you have any suggestions for us, would you like to add on anything else? "The Russian market is rapidly expanding and is a very demanding market.
